New Delhi: The Canada-based Research in Motion (RIM) has assured the Indian government that it will address all security concerns related to BlackBerry mobile phones. RIM also agreed to comply with rules and regulations of the government.

Earlier, the Indian government had raised security concerns about BlackBerry services in India. It wanted to monitor emails and SMSes used by BlackBerry devices.

Since the BlackBerry server is located in Canada and it is very difficult for the intelligence agencies to access the emails and SMSes, the government wanted full monitoring and access to the BlackBerry devices, when required.
