New Delhi: Indian boxers led by Olympic bronze medalist Vijender Singh won six gold medals at the Commonwealth Boxing Championship. Vijender struck the gold in the 75 kg category.

 

Other Indian boxers, who won gold medals were Jai Bhagwan (60 kg), Amandeep Singh (49 kg), Suranjoy Singh (52 kg), Dinesh Kumar (81 kg), and Paramjeet Samota(91+ kg).

 

Vijender beat England's Frank Buglioni 12-3 in the final to claim the gold medal. He was ruthless in the semifinal and even injured Tanzania's Selemani Kidunda through a powerful right punch. The bout was stopped by the referee, while Vijender was leading 10-1.
