Bangalore: Breaking News! The Karnataka High Court restrained all local Television channels from airing "obscene" video clippings of Swami Nithyananda and a Tamil Actress, allegedly 'Ranjitha'. The court passed the order on a PIL filed by former BJP MLA and advocate K N Subba Reddy.

A bench of justices V Gopala Gowda and B S Patil issued the notice to the state government and several TV channels in this regard.

The petitioner had argued that the video clippings contained obscene and immoral scenes and this would have a definite bearing on young children and had an impact on the elders. The court passed the interim order and fixed March 17 for further hearing.

The sex scandal involving Swami Nithyananda and Tamil Actress Ranjitha, shocked the nation and led to a public outrage in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
