Karantaka CID to probe into Nithyananda Sex Scandal

Bangalore: The Karnataka Government has handed over the probe into Swami Nithyananda sex scandal to the Karnataka Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The decision was taken after days of deliberations and discussions at the top level.
Mumbai: A 16-year-old girl was killed by a 65-year-old man, Hareesh Marodiya over a society dispute with her father Ketan Mehta. The deceased was identified as Himani Mehta. The accused was gunned down by the cops.
Lucknow: Sripat Azad, Samajwadi Party MLA from Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh, has allegedly set a woman on fire after an argument. The MLA is missing, as the police have launched a manhunt to nab him.

Surat: A former Freelance Journalist, Niranjan Puroshottam Mohapatra, was arrested by the Surat Police for alleged links with Maoists. Niranjan, who hails from Ganjam district in Orissa, was reportedly working in the tribal areas of South Gujarat.
