Nagpur: India is on the verge of losing the first test match against South Africa by a huge margin. In reply to South Africa's first innings score of 558/6, India were bowled out for 233, giving a lead of 325 runs to the Proteas.

Virender Sehwag was the top scorer with 109, while Badrinath scored 56. Debutant Wriddhiman Saha was out for a duck. For South Africa, Dale Steyn took 7 wickets, by running through the Indian batting order.

South Africa enforced follow-on and India made a disastrous start in the second innings. India lost both Gambhir and Sehwag with just 24 runs on board. Murali Vijay and Sachin Tendulkar are fighting to avoid an innings defeat, which looks highly probable under these circumstances.

At stumps on Day 3, India finished at 66/2. Vijay was on 27, while Tendulkar was batting on 15. Steyn and Morkel have taken one wicket each in the second innings.
