Mumbai: Director Chandan Arora's 'Striker', which was released across the cinema halls in the country and on YouTube overseas, has something to offer to its viewers. The movie revolves around a true concept of a struggling man and will draw the attention of the class, although it may not turn out to be a big hit! 'Striker' is the first Hindi film to be released on YouTube Video site. The movie is starred by Siddharath, Aditya Pancholi, Anupam Kher, Seema Biswas, Ankur Vikal, and Nicollete Bird. The movie reveals how an innocent common man falls into the money-making trap and his life changed forever. Surya (Siddharth) is the main protagonist in 'Striker'. He is an highly talented carom player, but had to give up his passion to earn money for his family. He reaches Mumbai and witnessed communal riots. Surya is stopped by police officer, Faroukh (Anupam Kher). After losing all his money, Surya is re-introduced to carom, but without any passion. He is into gambling now. He meets gangster, Jaleel (Aditya Pancholi) at this point. The movie also features Surya's girl friend, Noorie (Nicolette Bird) and true friend, Zaid (Ankur Vikal). 'Striker' is based on a good story and is full of interesting dialogues. The actors have done justice to their roles and there is an attempt by the director to keep the audience busy. However, somewhere down the line, the movie has lost the plot. That might mar its chances at the box office. Still, the movie has a lot to offer. Good to watch at least once.  Our Rating: ***** |
